And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5: 6)

the seven horned/eyed lamb of Revelations is very surreal to look at, once you actually put the description into image form. dare I say it looks alien-like

You might want to consider submitting this to the the #Christians Death to Life contest.

Thanks, but I'm not sure it works with the theme...

So far you do a good job on the detail, shading and proportions. It's kind of interesting that the Book of Revelations has a lot of symbolism, in which the unfamiliar might take too literally in this day and age. But for those who know Christ, we can understand why it's so. Excellent job on the image.

lol behold the face of that which the masses worship.

Something utterly ridiculous.

Tremendous and stupendous job. I think this display shows the true face of christanity

I have to admit that so far, the Lamb was the only thing that really inspired me... A lot of things in Revelation are strange and difficult to imagine. But perhaps God will put some more ideas in my head and heart to work with Revelation again. Then I'll be happy to do it.

Well you could always someday try the 2nd Coming or the New Jerusalem.
Those are two things that have always inspired me! :)

If it was ever a wonder why the Book of Revelations was particularly moving, I suppose it was because the visions might have featured images like this feller here who, bleeding as he is, sits on the Throne as Lord of the Hosts. Lovely rendition. Subdued, subtle yet powerful ô_ô.

Thank you ! I am working on a painting version of the Revelation Lamb right now. It looks like a white bighorn sheep with eyes "as a flame of fire" (Revelation 1:14).

With images like this, now I could understand Revelation easier! :)
I like how you did the Lamb's kind expression here... otherwise, the Lamb may look a bit scary with those eye and horns. =P

I remember when I first heard that passage in church, I had a hard time visualizing it. Now it seems easier. I still can't picture the room on a sea of crystal with God sitting on a throne surrounded be an emerald rainbow and all that other amazing stuff^_^;

Glad it helps you visualize ! Finding how to set seven eyes in a lamb's head was challenging ! There have been very few illustrations made of the Lamb throughout History.

A good one is Albreht Dürer's (16th century). I also found an Anglican sculpture of it (odd disposition of the eyes). You can find them easily with the Google search engine.

J'espere que ça te dérangera pas, mais j'aimerais utiliser ce dessin pour ma lesson d'école du dimanche! Je parle de l'apocalypse et c'est pas évident de trouver des images qui ont rapport!
